My Husband Left Me for His Secretary… Now I Own His Company
Chapter 4 The Fall Begins

The meeting started without delay.
He tried to recover.
Tried to act like nothing had changed.
But everything had.
Every word he spoke now—
was under my approval.
“We’d like to propose a partnership—”
“Rejected,” I said, before he could finish.
His jaw tightened.
“Can I at least explain—”
“No.”
My voice was calm. Final.
The same way his had been when he handed me the divorce papers.
Claire leaned in, whispering something to him.
Probably telling him to stay calm.
To negotiate.
To manipulate.
But those tricks no longer worked on me.
“You’re making a mistake,” he said, lowering his voice.
“Am I?” I smiled faintly.
“Because from where I’m sitting…”
I glanced around the room.
“You’re the one losing everything.”
The board members remained silent.
Watching.
Judging.
Choosing sides.
And it was obvious—
which side they were on.
