My Husband Left Me for His Secretary… Now I Own His Company

Chapter 3 The Meeting He Wasn’t Ready For

The next day, I arrived early.

The boardroom was quiet. Sunlight poured through the glass walls, sharp and unforgiving.

I took my seat at the head of the table.

Not as his wife.

Not as the woman he discarded.

But as the one in control.

Ten minutes later, the door opened.

He walked in confidently, followed by Claire.

Still smiling. Still arrogant.

That familiar look of superiority hadn’t changed.

Until he saw me.

His steps stopped.

Mid-stride.

“What… are you doing here?”

His voice cracked slightly.

I leaned back in my chair, calm.

“Sit,” I said. “You’re late.”

Claire frowned. “Excuse me? Do you know who—”

“She does,” he cut her off quickly.

But his eyes never left me.

Searching.

Confused.

Uneasy.

He sat down slowly.

“This isn’t funny,” he said. “Why are you here?”

I slid a document across the table.

“Because I own this company.”

Silence.

Heavy. Crushing.

Claire laughed first.

“Oh please. This is ridiculous.”

But he didn’t laugh.

He was staring at the document.

Reading.

Again.

And again.

Color drained from his face.

“That’s… impossible.”

“Is it?” I tilted my head slightly.

“You always said I didn’t understand business.”

I leaned forward.

“Looks like you were wrong.”
